The reigning WNBL champions announced today Jackson would stay on for another three years in the national capital in return for a package believed to run to six figures.
The 20-year-old wasted no time in setting the team's next target.
"Three years, three titles, I'm pretty confident about that," Jackson said.
Capitals coach Carrie Graf said Jackson had played in the last four grand finals and won three of them, so having her on the roster definitely made a hat-trick more achievable.
She said she hoped Jackson's deal would be the start of more competitive rates of pay for women players, turning around the imbalance with the men and stopping quality players migrating overseas.
But she did not think women would achieve equal pay in the next 10 years, with Jackson one of the few female players to have a great earning capacity.
"In general terms you could say that the better-paid players in the WNBL earn what the 10th man earns in the NBL and that's something that we'd like to see change," Graf said.
"Obviously it's not going to turn around overnight but I'd like to think that when I retire from coaching that there will be players playing women's basketball that do it for a job."
Jackson said while there had been interest from other WNBL clubs, she had not seriously considered leaving Canberra.
"I love Canberra and I'd love to stay here as long as I'm playing my career in Australia so I don't think there was ever a stage when I was going to leave because Canberra is always my first and my priority state," she said.
Jackson said she was not afraid of burn-out despite her off-season commitments to Seattle in the United States, where she was the number one draft pick last season.
But Graf is still weighing up her own future with the Caps after a year of back-to-back coaching at home and in the US.
She said she wanted to take a break but also keep up her association with the Caps, and hoped to make a decision in the next two weeks.
The club was also keen to get former captain Shelley Sandie, who hung up her boots on Saturday night, involved as assistant coach.
The Capitals have already re-signed point guard Kristen Veal and are close to a deal with forward Eleanor Sharp, while Kellie Abrams has another year to run on her contract.
The biggest question marks hang over sisters Lucille and Jacinta Hamilton, Graf holding out the carrot of the captaincy for Lucille if she decided to stay on.
Hamilton said she had some personal issues to weigh up but a return to Canberra was definitely on the cards.
"Three years, three titles - what a big carrot that is too," she said.
